Zen Appetit & President/Artistic Director at Asian-American Cultural Circle of Unity
Stella Shieh
Stella Shieh graduated from Taiwan’s Chinese Culture University, majoring in dance and music where she was the recipient of two awards, “The Flying Phoenix” and “Greatest Choreographer.” As she became recognized for her artistic interpretation of Chinese traditional dance, she was selected to lead a prominent dance troupe to perform in Japan, and invited to teach Chinese Folk Dance in the Philippines. After immigrating to the US she continued dancing, settling in NY and remains active in the dance community.
Currently Stella is a choreographer and teacher of Chinese folk dance on Long Island.  Her passion for the artists of her native Taiwan prompted her to help bring an array of Taiwanese performers to the tri-state area for concerts, lectures and demonstrations.
She is also the founder and president of Zen Appétit, an Asian event planning service for private parties and businesses. Stella helped organize the first Asian American Cultural Festival of Long Island, which is now in its 8th year and evolved into the Multinational Cultural Festival of NY, and chaired both the 2007 and 2008 events. In addition, she is Artistic Director of the festival. Stella is chair of the Asian-American Cultural Circle of Unity; and a board member of the Independent Business Women’s Circle.
