Martha Gorfein PhotoConcepts
Martha Gorfein Photoconcepts was officially established in 2010 although she’s been taking photos since the days of film and Minolta rangefinders.
As with many “budding” photographers, she first picked up a camera as a 21 year old tourist to record my European vacation. After viewing those small prints once home, she realized that what she had visually seen in my travels was not matched by what had been recorded on film. It was the onset of understanding the difference between pressing the shutter button and the artistry of photography.
Martha’s photography skills were honed while as a teacher in the South Bronx. She recorded school and district events and yearly, a slide show of senior portraits which became the highlight of the June graduation exercises.
Martha’s professional experience as a photographer began with a company specializing in high school reunions throughout the tri-state area. A short time later she became a freelance photographer working with several human rights organizations where I photographed annual award ceremonies, fundraisers and numerous cultural and political programs.
Martha shoots events of all sizes – ranging from intimate cocktail parties and family celebrations to larger corporate events. Candid and formal portraits are done on location or in the studio.
The latest addition to her services, Martha Gorfein Photoconcepts combines a passion for photography with a deep love for animals, making our pet portrait division, GEORGIEgirl Pet Photography, a popular component of the company.
